El Hombre del Saco (also called: El Viejo del Saco, El Hombre del Costal, El Viejo del Costal, El Hombre de La Bolsa) is a boogeyman from Hispanic children's folklore. He is usually represented as a man who wanders the streets after dark in search of lost children to take them in a large sack to an unknown place or eat them. This character is characterized as a scarer of children, and is used as a plot to scare children and force them to return home at an early hour. He is similar to Cucuy and the Sacamantecas.
